I am from The Netherlands and I moved to Belgium four years ago because of my friend's job. I have been painting from an early age. I am hugely fascinated by landscapes. The colours, the forms. The absence of humans, silence, rest. Sometimes I use my fantasy, but not always. My paintings used to develop around an idea that I had in my head, but lately I have been painting in a more intuitive way. I simply put up a canvas, I start painting and we will see what comes out of it. I have always stayed in touch with my inner child. For my more decorative paintings for instance I seek inspiration in illustrations in children's books, a scrap of cloth or paper. The result is nice to look at and others and myself find joy in it, but mostly it is just great fun to do. Je suis d'origine hollandaise et j'ai déménagé en Belgique il y a quatre ans à cause du travail de mon copain. J'ai pratiqué la peinture depuis mon enfance. J'ai une fascination profonde pour les paysages. Les couleurs, les formes. L'absence d'êtres humains, le silence, le calme. Des fois j'utilise ma fantaisie, mais pas toujours. Avant, ma peinture tournait plus autour d'idées que j'avais en tête, mais récemment elle est devenue plus intuitive. Je mets une toile devant moi, je commence tout simplement à peindre et je verrai bien ce qu'il en sortira. Je n'ai jamais perdu le contact avec l'enfant en moi. Pour mes peintures plus décoratives je m'inspire par exemple d'illustrations d'un livre d'enfant, d'un bout de tissu ou de papier. Le résultat est agréable à voir et rend les autres et moi-même heureux, et en plus c'est tellement agréable à faire. Je m'amuse énormément en travaillant avec la peinture et d'autres matériaux comme le tissu, le papier, les plumes et les perles. N'hesitez pas à me contacter si vous voulez plus d'information.
